Dr. Iyer completed his undergraduate degree from Penn State and his medical degree at Penn State College of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Medical College of Virginia where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Brown University and Rhode Island hospital.

His expertise includes radiofrequency ablation of cardiac arrhythmias with an emphasis on atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. He has extensive training in lead management with an emphasis on laser lead extraction. Dr Iyer is certified in the implantation and management of pacemakers and defibrillators. He is the principal investigator of the St Jude MRI pacemaker trial.

Dr. Iyer enjoys spending time with his family. He plays squash and enjoys biking. Dr. Iyer is accepting new patients and is available for consultations and diagnostic testing at our Chesapeake office.
