Dr. Kanter devoted two years to scientific investigations into the molecular causes of cardiac rhythm disturbances and recently participated as a clinical investigator in defining the benefit of a new type of pacemaker for the treatment of congestive heart failure. His scientific contributions have included numerous publications and recognition with a fellowship from the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. He is Medical Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. He enjoys running, golfing, windsurfing and skiing; and he has volunteered his medical services in Africa, the Caribbean and the Navajo nation.
